The Uruguayan artificial intelligence company received Google's backing in its latest research to optimize the performance of models used in artificial intelligence projects.
On Thursday, May 7, the Research and Development team at Tryolabs delivered an open webinar to dive deeper into the results of its latest research: the use of the Swift language (usually associated with iOS app development) for TensorFlow (Google's open-source framework for Machine Learning).
Tryolabs' contribution sparked great interest globally within this language's community, even being highlighted by the Google team focused on this project. Brennan Saeta, lead of Swift for TensorFlow at Google, and four other developers from the company took part in Tryolabs' event, supporting the results and committing to future joint contributions.
The Uruguayans created the first human pose estimation model in this novel language, a technique used in computer vision projects to define the positions and behaviors of a person or object through image processing.
The article that originated this relationship explains how the use of Swift can optimize the time and performance of models applied to machine learning. With an audience of around 200,000 people in the original publication, the content reached the top spot on specialized sites such as Hacker News and the Reddit channel for Machine Learning.
The strong interest in such a specific niche indicates that Swift may position itself as a protagonist in the future of artificial intelligence development.
